There are four islands at the southern end of the world: Karoku, Kada, Uka, and Shamon. The lords of each island are to marry the “Daughters of the Sea God,” who are chosen by the oracle of the Sea God. By marrying these daughters, the islands will gain the blessings of the sea god and prosper. This is a marriage tale depicting the “happiness” of the daughters chosen by the gods. 世界の南の端にある「花勒（かろく）」「花陀（かだ）」「雨果（うか）」「沙文（しゃもん）」の四つの島。 それぞれの島を治める領主は、海神（わだつみ）の託宣により選ばれた『海神の娘』と呼ばれる娘を娶ることとなる。 この娘たちを娶ることにより、島は海神の加護を得て、繁栄するのだという。
